We have the Decra shingles. It is definitely an investment. Especially if you follow the instructions as to flashing and such. Our house has a lot of dormers and valleys and such, so a hard roof to do. If you do it the "find a bigger hammer" method, it is going to leak.
5 years and I see no reason they shouldn't go almost indefinitely.
