Subject: Farmall M, early designs

I got some pic's of when they were designing the Farmall M. Looks like it started out as a 3F, then went to a F-22 and finally called it the M. Anybody have more info on this? My Dad bought the last F-20 in 1939, that Fall the neighbor drove a new M home.
