We were a bit too wet ten days ago.  Now we're too dry. 

Ground has become quite hard in many places in our fields.  We could use a little rain to soften soil conditions and give us soil moisture at the desirable planting depth.   

Never-ceases-to-amaze me how things can turn so quickly.
