“These are the times that try men's souls.” | I learned that from Grandpa, put a black marker ewe per hundred head in sheep herd. I've got to admit I try to keep every red heifer that pops out of the woodwork, it reminds of the old days, mind you I didn't say "good old days"! LOL This year we branded what my boys called a champagne color Hereford. She's really light in color, she's a cute one. I also have to keep those purebred "Angus" black Holstein throwbacks that look like they came out of a milking herd. LOL
I'm beginning to become more WOKE to the social injustices of the cattle industry, I've got just one calf of each color in the rainbow, pretty soon they are going to be calling my herd Skittles for the candy rainbow. Infact I've even included a transgender cow in the herd, she is ugly as all get out, but she can clear a 6' fence standing flat footed. I named her Caitlyn Jenner.
