Subject: RE: Drilled vs planted beans

East Central Nebraska
I like 15" due to canopy quicker. And I like my CIH 5400 Soybean special drill. Its 20ft and can fill quickly with 45 bushels of beans. I don't have a lot of money in it and saves wear and tear on my planter. I think the depth is just as good as a planter in no-till. I don't see how it could be any different with the CIH early riser units on it and I can dial it in pretty darn accurate. And to add I have 45 bushels when full pushing down on the bar. Only advantage I see is spacing is perfect with a planter, but drill spacing is good enough for me. If you into precision stuff, the drill is not for you. Once my drill is wore out, I would like to get into a 12/23 Kinze planter mainly to move to a 30 ft system.
