I was thinking the same thing.

I'll stick to my Gleaner. We replaced our concave on the last machine we had at 2400 hrs. - and that machine did a lot of soybeans in it's day. Augers were all in good shape yet as were the cyl. bars. We had an occasional bearing failure, but nothing serious. About the only nagging problem we had with it was the gears that drove the straw spreader. Previous owner backed into something and messed the spreader/drive up and attempted to straighten it all out. Did about as good a job as he could, but the gears never lined up just right and caused them to wear prematurely.

Sounds like Deere is experiencing growing pains on these STS's like Gleaner did with the early N Series machines. Found out quick that things had to be BUILT to handle the capacity!
