From my past experence, under serated sickle sections for grass mowing - then you can keep them sharp - or sharpen them is what we used to do. We used to have 3 cutterbars and would switch them out about every day (or sooner if many gopher/ant mounds). Dad or I would work on the out ones and sharpen them religishly . . .  Same for the rock guards - thay had a rivited serated plate for the sections to shear against - again, those were kept "edged" or changed out. Dealer used to kid us as we were the only ones he sold those plates too . . . . We could cut wet grass with ease - and of course, dry grass better . . .
