Have done it here successfully with a June kill and an August reseed on a field that had to stay in hay per landlord rules. One thing to consider is disease levels that killed off the old stand still being a factor on new stand. Another is fertility levels and Ph, need to keep it well fed. Preferred method to terminate old hay here is no-till corn.
