My corn planted April 25 (pictured today). Of course me being 6.5 degrees of latitude( 450 miles) more southerly than northwestern Iowa latitude helps! I'm at 36° 17'20" N . Northwestern Iowa is about 43° N . My latitude and longitude location is approx. 950 miles to the southeast of nw Iowa. Being east helps too!

But the guys in south Texas have us all beaten.

Looks nice.
My 4-16 planted corn came up in bout a week, then looked yellow and pathetic while it stayed unseasonably cold until the record breaking heat happened this week to help it turn green. The 4-16 corn had a couple 80 degree days a few days after planting that got it going, with a following big chill next. Now big heat.
Wonder what's next.
