Subject: Parani SD1000 problems and a question on a work around

Kingston,Mi
I used a Parani SD 1000 to provide the C.OR.S. correction from a tablet to the Trimble 252 attached to my Trimble EZ Guide 500. Worked satisfactory the first year, hasn't worked in several, doesn't pair with the tablet. Tablet and android phone pair via Bluetooth to each other and to other devices. So that leeds me to the conclusion that the SD1000 is defective. Now for the question, I searched and there are patch cables available fron USB to DB9. Would this be a work around where the tablet would be directly connected rather than by the Bluetooth that is common. Would mean 1 more cable fouling up the otherwise pristine interior of a nearly 40 year old tractor. I would rather buy a less than $20 cable than another $150 modem.
