The silks probably only shade 5% of the soil.
I would think that 95% or more is lost.
Actually the silks are 3” out of 30” wide.
10% there.
3” out of 9” in the row.
Now we are down to 1/3 of the 10%
97% lost.
Probably the silks get a triple coverage rate.
1% max of the pollen is actually used.
