Jackson County, AL | In my case, making these kinds of mistakes teach me more than reading a post like yours and using it as a warning of what could happen if I don't pay attention. There were a couple of farmer brothers that are both gone now that would say they loved making mistakes because it meant they'd never do it again. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me because I tend to make some of the same over and over, maybe skipping a year or two in between. I swore I'd never mess up with swath control times and measurements again but I planted over half our crop with a skip entering the endrows because I failed to catch a missing measurement. Checked when we started and all was good and always checked turn on after that because that's what always had been the problem. It was missing a measurement from the rear axle to the hitch swivel. I hate those kind of mistakes because I'll see a 2-3' skip all year and in the combine this fall. |
