Daylilies are tough and fairly easy to transplant. You can do this now or anytme between now and a few weeks before your first freeze. However, if you do it now you won't have many blooms this summer. When transplanting just dig up the whole clump and break it up into smaller sections of 2-4 fans. You can do the dividing with a knife or spade but if you use a screwdriver and your hands you won't damage the roots nearly as much.
