No doubt cattle have been sucking the hindmost for awhile. I woiuld like to think that we are on the verge of record prices. Then I go to the grocery store and look at the meat case and current beef prices. The things that could prevent a cattle rally at the producer level is the strangle hold the packers have on the industry and lack of MCOOL which will mean imports can replace domestic production and the consumer already doesn't know the difference.
Pretty much hit the nail on the head… realistically how much more can prices go up in the store before it’s priced out of reality? The rate we go through beef or meat in general personally, I would sure hate to have that grocery bill!!
If there is no run up on beef prices on the producer end this year I think that will shake a lot of guys out whether it was the fella with the hobby or someone who can drag a planter across there cattle ground |
