swMN | Either side of Des Moines river from the Iowa/MN border going north, and I'm sure south also, starting by Jackson MN going north it's nothing to see 30-50 birds in different flocks, there spreading out from the river now, 35 years ago you wouldn't see a Turkey, in 1990/91 my sister interned with the DNR up between St James and Madelia, raising turkeys to be set free, right by Kilen Woods state park, 1 mile from where we grew up, and now 1/2 a mile from where I live, once in awhile you have to stop your vehicle and let a flock fly across the road, seems like it takes forever, when 30 birds fly single file at windshield height, yes we have lots of birds here. | |
