| I chased a similar sounding problem for months that was a bad sensor in a Dickey-john Land Manager system. The slotted disk in the sensor had torn and about 10 (360 total) of the slots folded back on the disk. It still worked, but it skipped when the gap went by the led and receptor. I swapped control valves in the servo system, then changed to PWM (the land Manager can do both) and never found it until I took the speed sensor apart. I agree with tedbear on the PWM valves, I will never use a servo again if I have a choice. With any system using a Char-Lynn hyd motor I get the sensor built into the motor, this has been totally reliable (12 volt systems only), and is less likely to be damaged by the material being spread. | |
