southern Alberta | I have an 03 GMC 1500 HD with the 6 liter engine and 140,000km or 88,200 miles. The fuel pump has started making a high pitched whine. I have changed the fuel filter- no help- the old one was only on 6 months and was not plugged. I hit the bottom of the tank- no help either. Tank full or empty makes no differance. Is this the beginning of the end for this pump? I have to pull my camping trailer about 1600 miles this summer and I really don't want to pay a shop on the road to do this repair. Last year I had to do 2 of these fuel pumps one in a Sunfire and another in an S Blaser but they both just quit dead, never made any unusual noise, just cost $$$. That new 08 Dodge diesel I was looking at may look sweeter yet! | |
