Look into 235/80/16 size. They're rated slightly higher than the 85's. Only really bad tire I've had was Kuhmo. 17.5's. Bought 4, blew one got it replaced under warranty. Blew another, dealer replaced that one. Over time blew 3 more. Managed to wear out 1 of 6. All were sidewall blowouts. Probably from running near max load all the time but no other tire ever had that issue. FWIW, for the guys going to heavier tires because they don't like seeing the flex when turning. I hate seeing it too but tire flex is better than trying to put that flex on your axles. you'll have less tire issues, but more axle issues. For non-commercial use it's probably not a big deal but something to think about. |
