You are correct,its mostly a derivative of the dutch language.
The region we farm in have too little rain yearly to grow on dry-lands. We mainly double crop under irrigation corn and wheat and sometimes crops like Cotton,field peas,popcorn,soybeans and alfalfa in our region.
