My experience is with an old wilrich pulling a drag . It needs enough length and support so that all the force isn’t on the rear tubes. Otherwise cracks develop on all the welded joints over time . I noticed on our Nh3 applicator, the hitch is tied directly to the rear axle and there is a slide system so the hitch stays closer to the ground when lifted.
