Illinois | I have ran Huckstep shoes on my planter for 10+ years. In 2021 I tried three different fertilizer placement attachments on my JD 1770nt. The Huckstep shoes, the Wave, and 360 Bandits. The rows with the Huckstep shoes and waves were noticeably taller at the V6-V7 growth stage. I attributed this to the placement location of the starter fertilizer, as they both place the fertilizer in the same area relative to the seed. The Bandit rows were behind in development at that stage. I am equipping my planter with the Waves this winter. For me and my soils, I think this my best option. I am mostly no-till. | |
