Everything I've read about it says the release candidate earlier this year for 7 was more polished and trouble-free than Vista was at commercial release. My biggest problem with Vista was it always had to tie up about half of my RAM. SP1 brought that number down to about a quarter, but that still seems a little resource-hungry to me.
