| There was a successful business owner with businesses in multiple states. His engineering skills and determination helped build the companies that still stand today. While searching for a JD 4WD to purchase, he learned of one sitting on a jockey’s lot. Not criticizing but you would think a man such as he would have a tractor inspected when buying from a jockey or anyone for that matter. For whatever reasons he never sent anyone to look it over first.
Think it was located in Illinois. Trucking certainly wasn’t cheap. After delivery, one of his employees attempted to use it and it stopped moving in a field. John Deere tech came out and pulled the tranny filter. It was full of metal. They suspect that’s why it had sat unsold on the jockey’s lot for so long. Ended up having to replace the tranny out in the field.
That’s not the end of the story. The 619 kicked the bucket as well. Owner had to pay for a reman to be installed. I later did some other repairs on it a few times. That was sure an expensive mistake buying it without a thorough inspection.
