I have a 4 bolt pintle hitch (under shop bench), but not the 2"x 2" adapter with height adjustment holes.

Now, with your comments, I spend the money for correct style 2" x 2" complete hitch (like a wagon tongue/clevis style), and skip the pickup pintle hitch idea.
