Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa | Great story, thanks. I was just sitting here remembering our folks took us on a vacation out west over 50 years ago. After all that driving in the Rocky Mountains, Dad wasn't in the greatest mood. We were eating supper in some small Montana cafe, and a local rancher and his two kids were the only other people in the cafe at the time.
Rancher asked my father what he thought of the area, and Dad replied "I think you should bulldoze these mountains down and plant them to corn".
Rancher just smiled, thought for a few seconds, and replied "You have been lookin' down that furrow too long!" Every one laughed. |
