Which iPod are you having this problem with? I just did a search and couldn't find anything like what you are describing. I've let my Touch go until it shut itself down from batt. drain and it recharged/started just fine.

Did it do this since it was new? If it did, why didn't you return it or send it in for replacement? Have you tried resetting it back to factory (pretty much the same thing as formatting) and reloading your media? Do you have the latest software updates on it? Why not plug it in to recharge before the batt. goes dead?

Keep in mind that I have never stated or implied that Apple products are completely free of issues - it is simply my experience that I have a WHOLE lot fewer issues than I used to - and it is a very welcomed change in my opinion.
