| A series is newer. I have an 853A, but don’t really have any experience with a head that is not an A series. The thing that I heard guys complaining about on 50 series head is that the center covers bolt down and it is much harder to gain access to the chains to adjust them. 50A series the covers snap down and you can just lift them up to adjust or check on the chains. There are probably other small differences, but that is the one I heard the most about. I bought a 50A because I heard people say you don’t want a 50 series and I wasn’t brave enough to find out why. 50 series are almost half price of 50A sometimes so I suppose there is a reason. | |
