Zabcikville, TX | The first house I lived in had a den under the house, and another in an old barn 50yds away. When I got married (first the first time) and she moved in, I said "watch this!" and stomped on the floor. Of course, rattling ensued. She said "get rid of them". So the neighbor and I weren't about to go under that house. Hmmm?? What was our plan?? Couple cases of beer, 2 (maybe 3) bottles of propane. Yeah, that should work!! We cut the power to the house, only leaving 2 places where they could crawl out. We stood with hoes, shovels, and an old baseball bat. There were 4 of us armed with said devices. Got 19! Funny thing is, I never saw one (rattlesnake) in the yard, also never saw a mouse in the house or yard. Hated to kill them, because they extraordinarily beautiful animals. These were Western Diamondbacks. That was a pretty good time. When my wife got home from her work, she was "less than impressed" with our strategy........... | |
