An advantage of 2 buildings would be that you could keep the "storage" one cooler say 40 degrees to keep your stuff from freezing and your shop building a more comfortable temp for working. And because I assume you'll be opening and closing the storage one everyday, vs. the shop that you'll only open occasionally, it'll take less to recover the heat lost.
Whatever way you go put a remote opener on the door so you don't have to get in and out of the tractor as much and it'll cut down on the time the door is open.


If you go to in floor heat you will find that your 'recovery' times are a LOT shorter.
