Central Illinois | do you need the sulfur as that is the only nutrient that the gypsum provides. You got loads of calcium with your lime application. The sulfur in the gypsum is the plant available sulfate form but is leachable. Elemental sulfur takes time to convert to the sulfate form and the time it takes is similar to the time it takes for your lime to work. That is why most apply elemental sulfur in the fall. Unless you believe that your hay needs sulfur now then I would skip the gypsum and put on more sulfur. | |
