Central NE | I use ldns (low drift nozzles) on my pivots with ultra low pressure 15-25 psi. i like galvanized gooseneck and galvanized pipe to just below the truss rods, and then pressure regulator and black pads on ldns which shoot straight out. very very low evaporation or drift. you can stand ten feet away downwind and not feel any water and you can hardly see if its running from the road.
on the first two towers I used a roll of flexable 3/4" drop pipe from my zimmatic dealer to lower the drops to within 3 feet of the ground. have to have level land for that to work. I like being able to unplug the tiny nozzles near the pivot point from the ground even while its running, but for the rest of the pivot, just below the truss rods is low enough, and with nozzles that dont shoot upwards, there is no drift. just my .02c |
