I've fed DDG from a commodity shed. After it's sat for a few days, it locks together very solid. If you hand-scoop the pile, you'll eventually end up with a flat vertical face on the pile that can be carved with your finger. I've made quite a few "Mt-Rushmore" worthy carvings on the face of a DDG pile.
