Well, that'll teach me to not look close--- and not think--- before opening my yap!
The ' electric Milwaukee' was from harlotown west.
Longest electric RR in the world. Went to the coast, 600 plus miles.
Made good sense, compared to steam--- no coal to haul, no water to source or freeze in Mtn country.
Regenerative braking--- lotsa ups and downs, fed power back into system.
But can only push DC maybe 30 miles or so---- musta had 20 ac to DC substations . |
