I’m gonna try and see how it goes. I would spread it but I already loaded the drill on Saturday. There was no chance of rain for a week then. Guess I should have been right behind the combine like I have before. Thanks for all the quick responses.


Yep, try it and see how it goes, which is the most accurate way to assess conditions. If it's too wet for your liking, then wait, as c. rye gives you a good window to get it done. Personally, when drilling into sb stubble that will rotate to corn, I don't want too much fall growth, so late Oct.-early Nov. have worked fine here in W. Ill.
Into cornstalks rotating to beans, don't mind a little more fall growth with c. rye that this time of year will usually provide.
