There’s lots of reading if your so inclined, search for Central Valley Project, State Water Project. Also, it is very possible to recharge water into aquifers in this area. Kern Water Bank and Semitropic Water Storage District have artificially recharged several millions acre feet into the ground for use later. Again, it’s not a water problem or engineering problem, it’s a policy problem the whole country has. It’s not limited to the fruits and nuts of CA. If it’s possible to dry up the most productive ag land in the entire country, if not the world, we all need to be paying attention and putting a little more effort into advocating for our industry.
