Yes and No.  I am old enough to remember that parts only came once a week truck.  I thought that was slow. Ha, Dad said he used to wait for parts when the train came in, not a truck.  Talking waiting weeks.
We live in a little 700 pop town in SE Nebraska. They were USA parts. 



The ranch I grew up on was 30 miles from "town ". But town had a dealer for the H JD, the TO Fergusons (3), & the TD6 IH dozer, as well as the Ford & Chevy trucks & pickups. Seems like they had most of the parts in stock. Probably was a longer wait time for ordered parts before UPS.
Even into the 80'S the quick way to get JD parts out of Denver was to have the Denver depot put them on the Greyhound bus. Many times I went to the bus station at 8:00 to pick up parts. . .
