Subject: RE: How many pods on soybeans

Brookston, IN
I typically use ( (pod count x planted pop x 2seeds/pod)/( 2700 seeds/lb*60 lbs/ bu) )*.75

The .75 covers difference in planted vs emerged and allows for a few pods to die off.

I walked 4 fields today and had pod counts ranging from 79 to 189 with planting populations of 75 to 80k.
