It does it either way.
When We do blanched I prefer to Blanch it on the cob as I can do 8-10dz per round in my old popcorn popper. Once the water gets boiling it goes quick doing multiple batches.
When we do Grandma Ellen’s sweet creamy corn we cut it off first, then cook with butter and half and half.
