| Are you drilling up or down? If down you will want an auger but to pull the chips up, even if you have to pull it up every so often to clean it out. Necessity is the mother of invention though and looks like it should work fine. I wired a log cabin about 15 years ago and ended up putting the switches in a post like I believe you are doing, looked nice when it was done. If you use the P&S unbreakable plates on the outlet and heat it up, then form it to the post it will retain the shape but will become brittle. | |
