If software, use WM Survey.
If all you need is elevation, change the settings so Altitude is displayed on the monitor, stop your vehicle for a minute and jot down the Alt. Do this on all the highs and lows of the run, very similar to a laser ground survey. Requires some math for fall, rise divided by run = grade so 1ft rise in 1000 feet = 0.001, move the decimal point two positions to the right equals a 0.1% grade. If working with length numbers with the last two digits being 00, just drop them in the division, so 1 divided by 10 = 0.1 (1 tenth grade). | |
