| Interesting thought.. Thinking out loud here - Anything you plant near corn planting time that has good erosion benefits (grasses, cereal grains), will also suck up N. Which leads me to think you need a residual cover perhaps. Maybe cereal rye but terminate 2 weeks before planting corn to prevent N tie up issues. Which is too early to crimp so likely would have to spray. Then again cover is shorter then, so higher seeding rate may be required.
Interesting study by MSU on best cover crops for erosion, surprised cow peas on there..
