Subject: What is the best speed source for Deere VR planter drive

Have a Deere planter with variable rate drive. I have never used a VR drive before. Just wondering if radar or gps would be a better speed source? Have a ez-guide with the pulse output and a radar gun available. Is there anyway to configure the GS1 to use the wheel speed disk on the planter as the speed source? From what I have read it is just a backup speed source to alert the operator if the radar isn't working correctly. I have read on NAT that gps speed is often erratic. Does the VR drive filter this enough to get smooth operation? I do some planting in stripped wheat stubble. The tall stubble seem to make the radar erratic. This seemed to work when the GS was just monitoring the planting rate. Will it work ok when the GS1 is controlling the VR drive. Any thought? TIA
