E.Central MN | It all depends. Some of those (like the pair that were in my live trap this morning) are pretty big already. If the other little ones stay out of the live trap and don't get run over on the road, then they'll probably survive. One time I caught a mother raccoon AND one of her little ones in a live trap. The mother was mad as heck and was trying to bite anything that came near her, including the four other little ones that were climbing around on top of the live trap trying to get near their mother. It seemed like the whole area was being over-run with raccoons that year. By fall a bunch of them died, most likely from distemper. When they have 5-7 in a litter it doesn't take long to get too many of them. | |
