Subject: RE: plant corn with SF1 ?

Central SD
We have been planting our wheat and row crops with SF2 for 2 years now. It is perfect (or at least as good as we could ever hope to drive). My experience with WAAS or non-subscription based corrections is that they are too inconsistent. The $8,000 fee to go to SF2 is alot of money and so is the annual subscription. Some questions to ask are How many acres am I going to cover? How many years? How important are straight rows? Does my combine head match my planter? Is planting the only use I have for SF2?

EX.
2000 acres planted, 2000 acres combined = 4000 acres X 9 years = 36,000 acres.
One time $8000 SF2 fee - Annual subscription $2000 every 3 years X 3 (9 years) = $14000
Is $0.39/acre alot of money? Not to mention all the other uses and accuracy SF2 provides.

I don't mean to tell you how to run your operation, just wanted to give you some ideas on how to justify it. I have been there trying to make things work for free and ended up dissappointed.
