Northeast Indiana (Auburn) | Most lumber yard or big box store roofing (29 gauge) will not work on 8' spacing. The steel Morton uses will span 8'. I used the 29 gauge and put in 2X4's between the trusses on my insulated buildings. By the time you figure in the cost of the 2X4's, joist hangers and labor to put in the extra material it would be lower cost to get heavier steel. Also put in about 12" of insulation and don't forget the vapor barrier. |
