Reduce the RPM, job takes longer, engine hours do the same number of acres.
Not much to be gained in my opinion.

In my case, I run 19 - 19.5MPH because that is where my pressures are in the "sweet spot". When I was running 600 tires, that required WOT to acheive. Now, with the 710 tires, WOT is 21 MPH which puts my pressures higher than I want so I throttle back to my 19 - 19.5 MPH. Yes, I COULD spray at 21MPH with different nozzles and get done faster but, for me, 19 - 19.5 is fast enough. I do 160 acre field in 40 minutes. That is good enough for me.

Fuel consumption is roughly equal to the amount of work done. Slowing down doesn't change the equation by much.
