PROSPECT, TENNESSEE
I tried some tests here this year. Planted some at: 100,000 they made 40 bu/a . On the same day same field bumped it up to 130,000 they made 40 bu/a. Those were planted early in a 19" row, treated seed. I did several other trials no big yield difference anywhere, populations ranged from 100,000 to 160,000. the thinner the stand the better they stood and cut. Anything over 125,000 final stand all hit the ground and cut mean! (THIS YEAR) I have come to conclusion not to make decissions based on 2009. 2010 plans are to drop 5 seeds to the foot in a 19" row from start to finish.
