Subject: I can relate

se montana
I thought we had the dumbest mothering up herd in the world, then I helped the neighbors hold herd for hours and calves passed us on the way back home.

If possible, nowadays I move the whole herd to the fresh pasture, leave the gates open, then go back the next day and remove the pairs that came back. Can’t do that if you move through neighbors, but if it’s contiguous it saves a lot of frustration and dissatisfaction.

15O cow herd can’t make it 1/4 mile on this place without massive mismothering.
