What would you guys choose , drilled beans on 15” or planted beans on 30”

I have a 12/23 planter and and a 12 row planter. 12 row starts the year with corn and/or cotton. 12/23 starts the year with beans. both go at the same time.
Once the corn/cotton is done they both finish out the beans on bean heavy year. On corn/cotton the 12/23 finishes out the corn after beans are done.

Plant date is more important than spacing. They say you lose about 1/2 a bushel a day in soybeans after May 1 (around here). That adds up way quicker than the minor gains you make from 15" spacing.
That doesn't take into account deer pressure. The later we plant, the more deer damage we end up with. I think early spring, theirs so much new growth that they don't target the beans like they do later in the season. They have a lot more variety. Deer love new growth. I try to be sure my neighbor's beans are newer growth than mine lol.. In all seriousness, it makes a surprising difference when 1 plants before the other with deer damage.
