I don’t think you’re missing anything. My gut says this guy with his class “b” shares was the linchpin in getting things up and running to a large degree. Maybe has a lot of connections in the biz? Idk. Personally, I’d never ever put my $$ in a new packing plant. Period. Too risky, and unlike ethanol, there’s no taxpayer funded support to make sure it’s a go.
